Aditya Bandla, PhD

Dr. Aditya Bandla is a soil microbial ecologist at the National University of Singapore, where his research focuses on the biological and biophysical processes that determine long-term carbon stability in tropical peatland systems. His published work examines how peat microbiomes respond to disturbance, what controls methane and CO₂ flux from drained or burned peat, and how restoration management affects whether stored carbon stays in the soil. On Soil Health Exchange, Aditya contributes expertise on soil carbon measurement and the integrity questions underlying soil-based carbon credit programs, the science that determines whether the carbon a farm is paid for actually stays in the ground.
