Dr. Tushar Kumar is a Senior Research Fellow at ICAR–Central Arid Zone Research Institute in India and a quantitative pedometrician — a soil scientist specializing in the statistical modeling of soil variation across landscapes. His PhD in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry focused on pedometrics, digital soil mapping, and hyperspectral soil assessment, and his current national project integrates proximal and remotely sensed data to produce spatially continuous soil health predictions with explicit uncertainty mapping.Tushar's field research has centered on nutrient and property dynamics in wheat, maize, and legume systems in Indian cropping contexts. On Soil Health Exchange, he contributes methodological expertise in spatial soil analysis, digital soil mapping, and hyperspectral interpretation — questions where rigorous quantitative thinking travels across geographies. He is also developing an offline AI assistant for farmers with limited internet access.
