Poonam Karki

Poonam Karki is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Saint Louis University, where her research focuses on soil microbial ecology, nitrogen and carbon cycling, soil health, and sustainable agriculture. Her current research interests center on understanding how agricultural management influences soil microbial communities, nitrogen-cycling microorganisms, nutrient transformations, and greenhouse gas emissions. Her work aims to connect microbial and molecular approaches with soil health measurements to better understand the mechanisms regulating nutrient cycling and ecosystem function.
