What you can get
$5,000 - $150,000 • Nonprofit CDFI loan fund. Rates 0%-6.75% (2024 average was 1.88%), with a half-point reduction for auto-pay; terms 3-7 years with an optional 3-month grace period. No credit score is pulled and credit scores are not part of underwriting. Businesses without historical financials are capped at $15,000 unless bridging a grant award. Loans cover equipment, working capital, sustainability improvements, and staffing - NOT farmland purchase. Free business advising is included for applicants navigating the loan process.

- producer, Farmers and food business owners age 18+ who own or manage a registered business centered on food production and use regenerative agricultural practices, with at least two full seasons of production experience (one year for non farm food businesses); operations focused on hydroponics, aquaponics, alcohol, cannabis/hemp, commodity crops, or monoculture are not eligible.

- Open and accepting applications on a rolling basis as of August 2026. No deadline - farmers create a free account and complete an online intake form. Geography note: based in Virginia and had served borrowers in 19 states plus DC and Puerto Rico as of October 2025, expanding annually; farmers in states not yet served are told to submit the intake form anyway so the location can be considered.
