What you can get
$500 - $10,000 • Three tiers: Foundational Grants of $500-$1,000 for infrastructure, equipment, supplies, innovation, or making up for a loss (a minimum of 100 awarded); one Land Stewardship Grant of $5,000 for a farm committed to caring for the land in ways that strengthen soil, protect natural resources, and support long-term farm and ecosystem health; and at least one Transformational Grant of $10,000 for a farm project with profound impact on farm operations and community. All tiers use the same application, and applicants for the Land Stewardship and Transformational grants must also apply for a Foundational grant.

- producer, Commercial farmers located in the 50 US states, Washington DC, or US territories whose operation sells most of its products; homesteads and animal sanctuaries are excluded, and past For Farmers grant recipients may reapply alone or with up to two partner farms.

- Due October 12, 2026. NEAR-TERM AND OPEN NOW: applications opened Wednesday, July 1, 2026 and close Monday, October 12, 2026 at midnight EST. Foundational Grant awardees are announced the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving 2026; Land Stewardship and Transformational Grant awards are announced in February 2027.
