What you can get
Low-interest loans (typically 3%) for best management practices. • Eligible borrowers are Minnesota farmers (anyone reporting farm income), rural landowners, agriculture supply businesses, water quality cooperatives, and anyone doing septic work. Qualifying projects include manure storage and handling, erosion control, septic installation/repair, precision agriculture technology, cover crops and buffer strips, well replacement/treatment, and livestock exclusion fencing. Tractors, new construction without a water quality benefit, and refinancing of completed projects are ineligible. Administered through local SWCDs or county environmental offices; the county approves the project and helps locate a participating lender.
