Total loan amount may not exceed project cost. • Interest buydown on local lender/BND loans. General cap: $50,000 per project or biennium, up to $100,000 lifetime on separate projects or biennia. Subsurface field tiling and irrigation instead share a $50,000 lifetime buydown cap. General rate reduction up to 4 percentage points; tiling/irrigation up to 2 points; minimum borrower rate 1%.

- North Dakota resident whose principal occupation is farming or ranching. The project must be in North Dakota and a qualifying nontraditional or value-added business integrated into the farm operation; traditional production agriculture is excluded. Buydowns above $50,000 require applicant net worth below $1,500,000.
