- Eligibility
- The district pays part of the cost of conservation practices on private land within its boundary, about a third of Socorro County, a quarter of Catron County and a small part of Cibola County in west-central NM. Eligible practices: livestock water pipelines and drinkers, solar-powered pumps, fencing, brush control, noxious weed control and erosion control. One project per applicant per year. A separate grant-funded wildfire-mitigation cost-share (defensible space) pays a 50% match, up to $2,500 per home per year.
