- Deadline & timing
- Official page (checked 2026-09-30) posts a 'Typical Credit Project Timeline' (no year stated): submit the Site Validation Checklist to the SETT (sage-admin@sagebrusheco.nv.gov) by February 1; pre-field work by March 15; verifier fieldwork April 15 - June 30; post-field submission by October 31; management plan on rolling dates; credits issued upon signature of the Management Plan; annual monitoring report due July 31 each year. Credits are then sold on an open market managed by the credit proponents themselves. Next validation target: February 1, 2027 (inferred from the recurring timeline).
- Eligibility
- Credits quantify Greater Sage-grouse habitat function on the enrolled site; debit proponents (e.g., mines, solar, wind on public lands) must purchase credits from enrolled landowners. Criteria: project in GRSG habitat; landowner attests to ownership or use rights, control of water rights, and past land management; site provides seasonal and daily GRSG resources; not enrolled in an easement with the same goals; no imminent threat of disturbance; signed Participant Contract to maintain or improve the land for the project duration. SETT helps determine eligibility at no cost. Credit prices are not stated on the page.
