Deadline & timing

Due November 1, 2026. Official page: 'Applications are open from September 1, 2026 – November 1, 2026.' Submit through the landowner's local conservation district (eligible districts only) or by email to the OCC Land Management Division. Applications are evaluated and ranked by OCC Land Management staff; implementing the practice before approval may make the applicant ineligible.

Eligibility

Landowners who own or manage at least 20 contiguous acres for agriculture or wildlife with eastern redcedar, saltcedar, or mesquite, in one of the 23 participating conservation districts. Land parcels under contract through another brush management cost-share program are not eligible. Non-owners must file a signed owner consent form. A conservation district cooperator agreement is part of the application packet. Only one active contract at a time: a new application will not be accepted until the current contract is completed. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or qualified alien; a cash or in-kind match may be required.
