What you can get
$1,000 one-time payment on signing the conservation plan, plus $10–$20 per acre annually for three years depending on elements achieved (CNMP required component $10/acre; Soil Health $5/acre for three principles; Other Conservation Elements $5/acre for three principles) • Up to $75,000 over the three-year contract, including all bonus payments. Bonus payments up to $5,000/year for trying a new practice above the minimum or expanding acres. Small farms of 200 acres or less use a fixed schedule: CNMP & Financial Element $2,000/year, Soil Health Components $1,000/year, and Other Conservation Elements $1,000/year each (two listed), i.e. up to $5,000/year. Each producer receives an in-field soil health assessment at the start and end of the contract.
