- Official page: proposals for the 2026 habitat kit season are open until funding has been exhausted; proposals must be submitted at least 3 months before the expected planting date.
- Eligibility
- Projects can range from 400 square feet up to 2 acres; projects larger than 2,000 square feet are recommended to use seed instead of plugs. Not available for residential gardens. Applicants must be located in Wisconsin. Online proposal form requires site details and photos/diagrams; eligible applicants complete a Habitat Plan and phone interview and sign a Project Partner Collaborative Agreement. Kits are limited and requests are expected to exceed supply.
